Responsibilities
- Conduct ERISA compliance audits and investigations of multi-employer pension plans
- Interpret and apply federal pension regulations (ERISA, PBGC) to complex plan structures
- Develop corrective action plans for non-compliant retirement plans
- Provide technical guidance to plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries
- Analyze financial reports and actuarial valuations for pension plan health
- Collaborate with legal teams on enforcement actions and litigation support
- Represent EBSA in stakeholder meetings and industry conferences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or ERISA compliance experience
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation required
- Proficiency in pension valuation software and regulatory reporting tools
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial documents
- Experience with multi-employer pension plan governance structures
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Knowledge of California-specific pension regulations a plus
