Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state/local government employees ensuring accurate benefit calculations and disbursements
- Monitor compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Indiana pension statutes
- Analyze financial data to assess fund solvency and recommend strategic adjustments
- Develop educational materials for employees on retirement planning options
- Conduct audits and reviews to identify process improvements
- Collaborate with legal/finance teams on regulatory updates and policy changes
- Manage stakeholder communications regarding pension inquiries and disputes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation required
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 401(a)/403(b) regulations, and Indiana pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, PeopleAdmin)
- Strong analytical skills with financial modeling experience
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder education
- Ability to manage sensitive confidential information with discretion
