Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA and Colorado Revised Statutes
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments for public sector employees
- Conduct audits of pension records and financial transactions
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for retirees and employees
- Collaborate with investment teams to optimize fund performance
- Prepare comprehensive reports for legislative oversight and stakeholder communications
- Manage vendor relationships for pension administration systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- CFP, CFA, or SPHR certification strongly preferred
- Expertise in federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, IRS Code 401(a))
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Clear communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
- Experience working with public sector retirement systems
