Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan administration including eligibility calculations, benefit disbursements, and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Provide expert guidance to current and retired employees regarding retirement plans, survivor benefits, and tax implications
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension records and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor pension fund performance and recommend strategic adjustments
- Develop and deliver educational workshops on retirement planning and pension options
- Prepare detailed financial reports and actuarial analyses for legislative review and public disclosure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) policies
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, Tableau) and pension administration systems
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data and legal documents
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse stakeholders
- Professional certification (e.g., ASPPA, CFA) highly desirable
