Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations
- Analyze complex retirement benefit cases and provide authoritative guidance to federal employees
- Develop and implement pension plan policies aligned with federal mandates and best practices
- Conduct audits of pension accounts to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve pension disputes and benefit appeals
- Train federal employees on retirement planning and pension enrollment procedures
- Generate comprehensive reports on pension fund performance and participant demographics
- Stay current on evolving federal pension legislation and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, OPM regulations, and federal retirement systems
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QPA) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software and federal HR systems
