Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund investments, disbursements, and compliance reporting for public sector employees
- Analyze financial data to ensure adherence to ERISA, IRS, and California pension regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and member inquiries during night shift hours
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams to maintain fiduciary standards
- Develop and implement pension policy improvements aligned with government best practices
- Maintain secure digital records and prepare quarterly financial statements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or government financial management experience
- Strong knowledge of California PERS regulations and federal pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft) and MS Excel
- FINRA Series 65 or equivalent securities license preferred
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for complex financial calculations
