Responsibilities
- Administer and reconcile pension fund transactions using SAP/Oracle financial systems
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments with 99.9% accuracy
- Conduct audits of pension records to ensure compliance with IRS and ERISA regulations
- Respond to complex employee inquiries regarding retirement benefits and plan provisions
- Generate monthly/quarterly financial reports for City Council review
- Collaborate with actuaries and investment managers on fund performance analysis
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension fund or retirement benefits administration experience
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and municipal pension laws
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during night shift (10 PM - 6 AM)
