Responsibilities
- Manage complex pension plan administration for 5,000+ city employees
- Process retirement applications and disbursements with 99.8% accuracy
- Comply with ERISA, IRS, and Washington State pension regulations
- Develop analytical reports for city council and retirement board meetings
- Implement new pension policies and procedural improvements
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Maintain secure digital records using SAP HR and pension software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA and IRS retirement regulations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pension management systems
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours
- Valid Washington State driver's license (for occasional in-person meetings)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
