Responsibilities
- Manage and administer pension plans for state government employees, ensuring compliance with federal and California regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive member consultations regarding plan provisions, contribution limits, and distribution options
- Develop and maintain accurate pension records using specialized software systems
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
- Analyze pension fund performance data and prepare quarterly financial reports
- Train state agencies on pension plan procedures and policy updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and California pension laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Oracle Benefits)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Excellent communication abilities for explaining complex benefit concepts
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA) preferred
