Responsibilities
- Manage and administer municipal pension plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Missouri state regulations
- Analyze pension fund data to prepare accurate financial projections, valuation reports, and actuarial statements
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution payments with precision
- Develop and maintain pension policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with best practices
- Respond to complex employee and retiree inquiries regarding pension benefits, eligibility, and plan features
- Collaborate with auditors, legal counsel, and investment committees to ensure fund integrity
- Monitor legislative changes and implement updates to pension administration systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Missouri public pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, NCPERS)
