Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan enrollment, eligibility verification, and benefit calculations for state employees
- Process retirement applications, distributions, and survivor benefits with precision
- Ensure compliance with federal/state pension regulations and GAAP standards
- Conduct employee consultations on retirement planning and investment options
- Maintain accurate pension records using proprietary state systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external auditors on pension audits and reporting
- Develop educational materials for retirement workshops and employee communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement plan experience
- Proficiency in pension management software and MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Georgia pension laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or SHRM-CP preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and integrity
- Valid Georgia driver's license (required for occasional travel)
