Responsibilities
- Manage pension enrollment, contribution calculations, and benefit distributions
- Ensure compliance with NC Retirement Systems regulations and ERISA standards
- Process retirement applications and conduct benefit counseling for state employees
- Maintain accurate participant records using proprietary pension administration software
- Collaborate with finance teams on quarterly reporting and audits
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement planning and account status
- Assist in policy development and procedural improvements for pension operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 3+ years pension administration or benefits experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and retirement plan structures
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension administration software
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication abilities for participant interactions
- Ability to work independently on weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Government/public sector experience highly desirable
