Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits and retirement eligibility determinations
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Texas state laws
- Analyze pension fund investments and prepare financial reports for stakeholders
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding retirement planning and benefits
- Coordinate annual audits and reconcile pension fund accounts
- Develop educational materials for pre-retirement seminars
- Collaborate with external investment advisors and fund managers
- Maintain accurate participant records using pension administration software
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Texas retirement laws
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or CFA) preferred
