Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee pension plan benefits including enrollment, distributions, and compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Process retirement applications, calculate benefits, and maintain accurate participant records
- Conduct financial modeling and actuarial analysis for pension fund sustainability
- Collaborate with auditors and legal counsel during annual compliance reviews
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for employees on retirement planning
- Manage weekend shift operations ensuring seamless coverage for urgent pension matters
- Utilize specialized software (e.g., Millennium, Millennium Plus) for record-keeping and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Proficiency with pension administration software and financial modeling tools
- Strong understanding of government pension regulations (ERISA, IRS 414(e))
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex pension concepts to diverse audiences
