Responsibilities
- Manage and administer defined-benefit pension plans for 2,500+ municipal employees
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and California Pension Reform Act
- Conduct participant education workshops during weekend shifts
- Collaborate with auditors to prepare annual financial statements
- Utilize Oracle PeopleSoft Pension Administration software
- Respond to participant inquiries via phone/email during weekend hours
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or ASPPA designation preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pension software
- Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays with flexibility for weekdays
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory detail
- Experience with government pension plan audits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
