Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension plan enrollment, disbursement, and modification requests
- Provide accurate retirement benefit calculations and counseling to state employees
- Ensure compliance with federal/state pension regulations and internal policies
- Generate monthly reports on pension fund performance and participant metrics
- Collaborate with finance teams on quarterly audits and reconciliation processes
- Maintain confidential participant records with 100% accuracy
- Respond to weekend inquiries via phone and secure messaging systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement planning experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and pension management software
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) or SHRM-CP preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication abilities for explaining complex benefit structures
