Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans, enrollments, and disbursements for state employees
- Provide expert guidance on pension regulations, retirement options, and benefit calculations
- Conduct weekend shifts to ensure continuous service coverage for beneficiaries
- Review and process retirement applications with meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments to maintain accurate records
- Stay updated on federal/state pension laws and implement regulatory changes
- Generate compliance reports and audit documentation
- Train employees on pension plan features and digital tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Arizona pension laws
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Oracle HCM, ADP) and MS Office Suite
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex retirement scenarios
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or SHRM-CP preferred
