Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using advanced CAD systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication technology
- Complete rigorous training modules to achieve certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified test required)
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Availability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
