Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD software and radio protocols
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Operate multi-channel communication systems and specialized equipment
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Complete all mandated training modules within 6-month probation period
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking skills under high-pressure situations
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must reside within 50-mile radius of Lexington
