Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units according to established protocols
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Utilize NCIC/FCIC databases for warrant checks and suspect information
- Operate radio equipment and maintain clear communication channels
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 50 WPM typing certification
- Clear background check and polygraph examination
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and drug screening
- Proficiency in multitasking during high-stress scenarios
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized software
- Strong verbal communication skills and emotional resilience
