Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch appropriate police units based on priority codes and established protocols
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents in compliance with state regulations
- Provide critical information to officers in the field during active incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies and natural disasters
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems efficiently
- Remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer navigation
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Must be available to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
