Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-line phone systems and radio dispatch equipment
- Input and maintain accurate data in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Provide clear, concise instructions to field units during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergency situations
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- No criminal record (background check required)
- Must pass NCIC certification training
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
