Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police units and resources to incident locations
- Maintain accurate real-time status of all field units and resources
- Enter/update critical incident data in CAD and RMS systems
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via EMD protocols
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-agency incidents
- Operate radio communication equipment and specialized emergency software
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid NC driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software
- Clear verbal communication skills with neutral accent
