Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency dispatches
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio equipment
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units in real-time
- Enter and maintain accurate incident reports in CAD systems
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers in crisis
- Monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid DC driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts (24/7 operation)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
