Responsibilities
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio equipment for emergency/non-emergency calls
- Utilize CAD systems to dispatch law enforcement units efficiently
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Perform data entry and information retrieval in compliance with protocols
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and polygraph
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Strong multitasking ability in high-pressure situations
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn specialized systems
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
