Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and urgency
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate field units
- Utilize CAD systems for real-time incident tracking and resource allocation
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation per department protocols
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during multi-jurisdictional events
- Adhere to NIMS/ICS standards during emergency operations
- Participate in continuous training for certification advancement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass extensive background investigation and psychological evaluation
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Valid Alaska driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- Clear criminal history (felony disqualifier)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
