Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and non-emergency communications with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units to emergency incidents using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, medical) during multi-agency responses
- Provide critical information to officers in the field during active incidents
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Complete departmental training programs and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (verified by typing test)
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Clear criminal record (felony convictions disqualify)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English (additional languages highly valued)
