Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during critical incidents
- Enter and update case data in RMS databases
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance during emergencies
- Operate multi-channel communication equipment under stress
- Complete all required academy and departmental training modules
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- U.S. citizenship and Indiana residency required
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
