Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with compassion and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RAD systems during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during multi-jurisdictional responses
- Utilize de-escalation techniques during high-stress situations
- Perform data entry and maintain confidential records
- Participate in continuous skills development and scenario-based training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 35+ WPM (test administered during application)
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- No criminal history excluding minor traffic violations
- Must be 18+ years old and able to work rotating shifts
