Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with EMS/Fire during multi-agency responses
- Operate 911 systems and backup communication equipment
- Provide critical instructions during medical/active shooter incidents
- Monitor field unit statuses and resource allocation
- Participate in monthly scenario-based training drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background check & drug screen
- Typing speed ≥ 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong multitasking and stress-management skills
- US citizenship and valid Louisiana driver's license
- Must be 18+ years old
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, CAD systems)
- Clear speaking voice with neutral accent
