Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies
- Dispatch police units in response to calls for service
- Operate radio equipment and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Enter and update information in the police records management system
- Maintain accurate logs of all calls and activities
- Provide clear and concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and think clearly in high-stress situations
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- No felony convictions
