Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units and emergency services efficiently
- Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized equipment
- Coordinate with other agencies during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear communication skills in English and Spanish
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Must pass physical and psychological evaluations
