Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police units, fire, and medical services during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols and channel discipline
- Enter and update real-time data in law enforcement databases
- Provide crisis intervention and multi-lingual support to callers
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during major incidents
- Complete mandatory state-mandated dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California driver's license
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS applications
