Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public, utilizing a multi-line radio console and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services units to incident scenes with speed and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of calls, incidents, and resource allocation in the CAD system.
- Monitor status and location of all field units to ensure efficient response and resource management.
- Communicate effectively with officers in the field to provide vital information and receive status updates.
- Evaluate situations to determine the appropriate level of response and resource requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Must pass a background investigation, medical exam, and psychological evaluation.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
