Responsibilities
- Process and prioritize incoming emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses involving police, fire, EMS, and city departments
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and radio communication logs
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Operate radio equipment and emergency notification systems
- Utilize mapping software for precise location tracking
- Participate in disaster preparedness drills and crisis simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and polygraph
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
