Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Operate radio equipment to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Utilize CAD systems for real-time tracking and resource deployment
- Provide critical information to first responders during high-stress situations
- Adhere to all departmental policies and confidentiality standards
- Complete mandatory training programs to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with multi-tasking
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
