Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate incident logs and radio communications protocols
- Provide critical pre-arrival medical instructions via EMD-certified protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate NCIC/DCIC databases for background checks and warrants
- Perform post-incident documentation and data entry
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified by test)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Clear articulation and multilingual skills (Spanish/English preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- U.S. citizenship and residency in California
