Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with exceptional professionalism
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers and field units
- Operate radio, telephone, and alarm systems efficiently
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
- Adhere to all NJ state dispatch protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Must be 18+ years old and legally authorized to work in the US
- Typing speed minimum 35 WPM (verified assessment required)
- Ability to multitask and remain composed during emergencies
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- No felony convictions (background check required)
- Ability to pass medical/psychological evaluations
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
