Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with compassion and efficiency
- Dispatch police units using advanced CAD systems during critical incidents
- Maintain precise records of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with fire, EMS, and other emergency services
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure situations
- Operate radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age 18
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities
- Available for rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
