Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and professionalism
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch police officers efficiently
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, FBI) during complex situations
- Participate in continuous training programs to maintain certification
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Clear communication skills with strong command of English
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (40+ WPM)
- Must be 18+ years old and a US citizen
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
