Responsibilities
- Answer 911 emergency calls and non-emergency lines with empathy and efficiency
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications
- Coordinate emergency response with police, fire, and medical units
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and call logs
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Adhere to all federal, state, and departmental protocols
- Participate in continuous training and scenario-based drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress emergency situations
- Proficiency with computer systems and multitasking
- Valid Texas driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
