Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and composure
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed incident logs and update case information in real-time
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate NCIC databases and conduct background checks
- Train on specialized equipment and software systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- No felony convictions
