Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units to emergency scenes
- Maintain accurate real-time incident documentation in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical instructions to callers during medical/trauma situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations
- Adhere to FCC regulations and departmental protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Clear speaking voice with strong communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
