Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch appropriate units
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via emergency protocols
- Monitor radio traffic and maintain situational awareness
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- U.S. citizenship and NY State residency
- Clear criminal background and drug screening
- Exceptional communication and multi-tasking abilities
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency (40+ WPM)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid NYS driver's license
