Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls with precision and compassion, determining priority levels and dispatching appropriate resources
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment during high-pressure situations
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses involving fire, EMS, and other emergency services
- Utilize mapping technology to provide real-time location tracking and route guidance
- Remain calm and professional during critical incidents, providing clear instructions to callers
- Participate in continuous training drills to maintain operational readiness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in criminal justice preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Exceptional communication skills with multi-lingual proficiency a plus
- Basic computer literacy with aptitude for learning specialized software
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
