Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units, fire, and medical services using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and provide real-time updates to responding personnel
- Perform multitasking during high-pressure situations while adhering to protocols
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire, FBI) for seamless incident response
- Assist in training new dispatchers and maintaining departmental records
- Participate in continuous professional development and scenario-based drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Typing minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Clear articulation and exceptional listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, CAD systems)
- Ability to work rotating shifts nights/weekends/holidays
- No felony convictions or domestic violence convictions
