Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using multi-channel radio systems
- Maintain detailed incident logs and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during medical emergencies
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems for city facilities
- Train on NLETS and NCIC database protocols for sensitive information
- Operate E9-1-1 systems and maintain compliance with state regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license at time of appointment
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Shift flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems beneficial
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure emergency situations
