Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency 911 calls with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with fire, EMS, and other city agencies during multi-agency incidents
- Utilize NCIC databases for warrant checks and background information
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and emergency notification protocols
- Provide critical information to responding officers during active incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified assessment required)
- Ability to pass written and oral comprehension tests
- Valid Georgia driver's license (or obtain within 30 days)
- Experience in customer service or high-pressure environments preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
