Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls via multi-channel systems (phone, radio, digital)
- Dispatch police/fire/EMS units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers when needed
- Monitor radio traffic and maintain situational awareness
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Experience in customer service or high-pressure communication roles
- Basic computer skills with willingness to learn specialized software
- US citizenship and Tennessee residency required
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid driver's license with clean record
