Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Monitor multiple communication channels simultaneously
- Utilize de-escalation techniques during high-stress interactions
- Complete all required training modules within designated timeframe
- Adhere to department protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of application
- Valid Texas Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Proficient in computer applications and multi-tasking
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude
